Class Structure and Progression

Aquakiddies/Babies  courses are 5 weeks in duration and each class lasts for approximately 35 minutes. This is made up of five to ten minutes on poolside for registration followed by twenty to twenty-five minutes in the water.

Our structured lesson plans are based on a "building block process". Each weekly class has a theme whereby we introduce a new skill, logically related to the level of progression. Parents/carers are always advised not to enter the water until asked to do so by the instructor. This will ensure a smooth transition through these stages of progression. A baby or young child may repeat a stage, depending on their readiness to progress.

Aquakiddies/Babies  Courses

There are three levels :
Stage I
Stage II
Advanced

There are two age groups for each set of three courses:
Babies: Birth to 12 months
Toddlers:
13 months to 4 years

Pre-School Swimming Classes

Aquakiddies/Babies  also offers courses for children between the ages of two-and-a-half to four years. These classes are particularly suitable for toddlers who have attended several courses with Aquakiddies/Babies  and progressed to being in the water unaided and without their parent/guardian.

The core foundation of our class structure is to ensure that the class is fun. The emphasis is always on playing and training at the same time. We introduce submersion to the babies for a one to two second duration in the first lesson. This opens the opportunity to progress with the babies' own natural ability.
