Important notes on Health and Safety

Feeding Routines

Always allow one to two hours after feeding before you allow your baby to go into the water. Whenever possible, feed your child after the class and they should have a very long, undisturbed nap (giving you a well deserved break!).

Illness

If your child has a cold or is unwell, do not allow him or her into the water.

If your baby has an ear infection, do not allow him or her into the water until the infection has completely cleared up.

Immunisations

With regard to immunisation, there is no known case of a baby contracting any of the following diseases from a well maintained, chlorinated pool:-
Diphtheria, Whooping cough, Tetanus or Polio.

Medical reports state that it is perfectly acceptable for a baby who has not been immunised to swim in a chlorinated pool. More importantly the temperature of the pool should be at an acceptable level for your baby.

These issues are dealt with in more detail in the full report, a copy of which is available on request.

N.B. Aquakiddies/Babies  requests that any parent who has any reservations regarding their baby swimming before immunisation waits until their baby has been immunised.
